Tsunami...

A tidal wave crashed into the shoreline of Penang island yesterday. And although I am now working and living in Kay-El, I'm pretty much a home-grown Penang boy. Therefore, I felt much pain at seeing the state of my hometown as it is now after the disaster.

Plus, my parents are still living there... on the same stretch of beach... fortunately, on much higher ground. I was relieved that they are safe...

So with that, I would like to thank Dan, and Hilmy for smsing and calling me up to ask how were things. And to the numerous other people who asked, thanks... To Kotak, thanks for standing by me when waves were crashing...

And as I conclude this blog of silence, I only ask for... (and it's so darn cliche... ) World Peace!

The twelve days of Christmas

And there he was sitting on his desk in the eve of christmas. A slouched stance, and a pencil in his hand. A candle burning slowly at a corner, courtesy of Tenaga Nasional for not paying bills on time. An empty cup sits at another corner, stained with coffee to keep him awake...

Finally, as the clock approaches midnight, he completes the last sentence. Slowly, aching, he gets up and stretches. Then, he seals the envelope and lumbers towards the porch. He had spent way too much on her present this year... but he knows it's worth it...

"When she comes over tomorrow, this is gonna knock her socks out..." he says as he places the christmas card on the partridge in the pear tree. "And now... for the other stuff... " he whispered as the mocking birds stirred and the french hens clucked...

Mundane differences...

Routine is not good. Life slows down, things become too regular, nothing interesting happens anymore. The mundane repetitions of everyday routine makes life mundane. One needs a challenge once in a while to make living worthwhile... at least that's what I believe. Oh, for the sporadic imperfections that life presents... here's a sketch... impromptu, not planned, and unthemed.

Little annoyances...

Ever had that little thing that bugs you so much you wish it never exist? Here's a testament to that... 20mins, Photoshop, Wacom. Something to lift your Monday blues a bit... enjoy...

Rip off my arm...

I was in a pissy mood today. Something happened, and it reminded me of days when working was actually fun. I don't know what happened in between, and there's not much reason to gripe about it now... but I did learn one thing... experience is invaluable... and that, puts a smile on my face... :)

Points of Authority...

Monologue: Some people can be so insensitive, irrational, disrespecting, and crude!!! And you expect people to respect you?!?!?! Go suck a cow...

P.S. Mild-mannered Kalamari has had a pretty rough week and continues to wonder why he's surrounded by idiots most of the day...
